August 14: 75th Anniversary of the Social Security Act

Seventy Five years ago, on August 14, 1935, Franklin Delano Roosevelt signed into law the Social Security Act.

The Republican Party would like to destroy this very important law. George W. Bush tried to privatize it, and was defeated on his efforts.

Do not be fooled by the GOP rhetoric. Social Security is people helping people and that is the reason that the GOP wants to see it destroyed.
