Dear Cuban brother:
Do not be a fool. Do not become the
food for the sharks in the strait between Cuba and Florida.
American capitalism does not have
anything to offer to you other than exploitation and suffering.
In 1961, when I came to the U.S., the
country had good manufacturing-based
jobs that payed a living wage. The American capitalists have exported
those jobs to Mexico, China and other low-wage paying countries that
pay as low as 21 cents an hour. The American worker received a royal
screwing from the capitalists who are in charge of the so-called
“American Dream.”
The American Dream now exists only for capitalist millionaires,
billionaires or those making above a quarter of a million dollars.
Those three groups have murdered a very imaginative dream that only
existed in the fertile minds of your would be capitalist exploiters.
Hundreds like you have come to Florida and have returned to Cuba when
they realized that they had been deceived. You may make a lot of
money if you decide to join the bands of organized criminals that
roam the state. But then, in the end those human sharks would end up
eating you too, like the ones in the Florida strait.
Do not listen to the siren song of capitalism which is being sung in
the island by unscrupulous and mercenary people like Yoany Sánchez,
Coco Fariñas and others.
Be strong and repudiate them, like the rest of the people in Cuba do.
The Cuban people know who those apátridas
work for.
Cuban socialism may not be perfect, but you have to stay and help it
become better with any needed and people-supported reforms.
Your friend,
Jorge R. Gonzalez
